Contest Process

1. Contest Submission

Designers are invited to submit their original jewelry designs featuring Osmium as the primary or most highlighted material.

  • Eligibility: The competition is open to all jewelry designers and manufacturers, including emerging talents and established brands, from around the world. Each participant may submit three designs.
  • Submission Requirements: Designs must be original, with Osmium as a key element, and should be feasible for production. Submissions must include:
  • Detailed sketches or 3D renderings.
  • A statement (max. 300 words) explaining the design’s inspiration and concept.
  • A brief designer biography (max. 200 words).
  • Note: A check-box is required confirming acceptance of the terms and conditions, as well as the privacy policy.
  • You must be member of the Katerina Perez Club. Use Code “Osmium” (valid until 12th of April) to get discount when enrolling (more information: https://katerinaperez.com/club)

Osmium Visionary Contest 2026 – Timeline

Submission Phase (60+ days)

Start Date: Monday, 2nd of February 2026

End Date: Sunday, 12th of April 2026

Designers may submit up to three original designs featuring osmium as a key material.

Each submission must include: Technical or Gouache drawings or 3D renderings, a statement of inspiration (max. 300 words) and a short biography (max. 200 words)

Preparation Phase for Judging  

Start Date: Sunday, 12th of April 2026

End Date: Wednesday, 15th of April 2026

During this phase, all submissions are prepared, reviewed for completeness, and curated for the official judging process.

Official Judging Phase 

Start Date: Wednesday, 15th of April 2026

End Date: Sunday, 19th of April 2026

An international panel of esteemed judges — including Katerina Perez and leading experts in high-end osmium jewellery — will evaluate all designs based on: Creativity, Technical execution, Feasibility, Market relevance

Winner Selection (1 day)

Date: Sunday, 19th of April 2026

The final winners of the Osmium Visionary Contest 2026 are selected.

Confidential Winner Notification

Date: Tuesday, 21st of April 2026

Winners will be informed confidentially, allowing approximately 2½ weeks to prepare travel arrangements for the public announcement if they want to join at Gem Genève.

Audience Award – Public Voting Phase

Following the confidential notification of the jury-selected winners, a curated selection of contest entries will be presented to the public for voting on Instagram.

During this phase, the wider jewellery community of Osmium-Institute and Katerina Perez Followers will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite design, determining the recipient of the Audience Award.

The Audience Award is independent of the jury prizes and is based exclusively on public vote.

Further details regarding the exact time and process will be announced separately on Instagram.

Public Winner Announcement at GemGenève

Dates: Thursday, 7th of May – Sunday, 10th of May 2026 (exact date to be confirmed)

The official public announcement of the winners will take place during GemGenève, our esteemed international partner fair in Geneva.

Winners are encouraged to attend in person to receive their awards, accompanied by press and social media coverage. If attendance is not possible, a video message will be requested for presentation on site.

Along with an official award certificate, winners will be presented with a symbolic placeholder representing their osmium prize.

The final osmium inlays will be custom cut after GemGenève, based on the submitted technical files, and subsequently certified by the German Osmium Institute. If required, all necessary customs documentation will be prepared prior to delivery.

Production & Exhibition Phase

Start Date: From May 2026 onwards

Selected designs that are realised will have the opportunity to travel internationally with the Osmium Institute, being showcased at trade fairs and exhibitions across multiple continents.

This phase offers ongoing brand exposure, press features, and social media visibility for participating designers.

2. Submission Confirmation

Participants must agree to the terms and conditions and accept the separate privacy policy before submitting their designs. Participants must use the same email they use for their membership of the “Katerina Perez Club” so entry and membership contact match. Confirmation of the above will be handled via check-boxes that the participant must tick to confirm their agreement. You will then receive a confirmation via email.

3. Design Evaluation Process

Designs will be evaluated including but not limited to based on the following criteria:

Use of Osmium
  • Creativity & Innovation: The design should creatively integrate Osmium, showcasing its unique characteristics.
  • Material Integrity: Osmium should be featured in a way that maximizes its visual appeal and craftsmanship.
Creativity and Originality
  • The design should stand out with unique concepts and artistic expression.
Feasibility for Production
  • Designs must be manufacturable, considering technical and material constraints.
Marketability and Commercial Potential
  • The design should appeal to both luxury and broader markets.
Craftsmanship and Technical Excellence
  • Attention to detail and technical execution will be a key aspect of the evaluation.
Adherence to Competition Guidelines
  • The design must meet all submission and contest guidelines.

4. Final Submission of Designs & Pieces

Finalists must submit their completed designs featuring Osmium via the online form by 12th April 2026 at 11:59 pm Germany time to ensure participation in the contest.

Prizes for the top three winners who will create their pieces:
1st Place: Cut and certified crystalline Osmium prize worth €30,000
2nd Place: Cut and certified crystalline Osmium prize worth €20,000
3rd Place: Cut and certified crystalline Osmium prize worth €10,000

Additionally, all three winners and additional 20 honorable mentions will receive public recognition through the Katerina Perez and Osmium-Institute channels.
